Art

K-3: Hibler
  • Kinder students will be introduced to the artist Modigliani. They will learn about self-portraits.
  • 1st grade will begin a moon landscape with trees, focusing on cool colors in the sky.
  • 2nd grade will study artwork by Claude Monet and identify the way the colors interact.
  • 3rd grade will study Georgia O'Keefe and create an analogous color scheme.
3-6: Carlson
  • 3rd grade will continue positive and negative space projects.
  • 4th grade will begin Monet waterlily project (colored pencil and collage).
  • 5th grade will begin one-point perspective project.
  • 6th grade will add black pen and color pencil details to their animal drawings.

Music

K-2: Abrego: All students will continue preparing for the Spring concert on Friday, May 1st.
  • Kindergarten: The students will learn the presentation of notation of one and two sounds on a beat.
  • 1st grade: The students will learn to label a pitch a skip below mi as do.  
  • 2nd grade: The students will review conducting pattern of quadruple meter and learn the presentation of quadruple meter. The students will be introduced to the orchestra and instrument families.
3-6: Andersen
  • 3rd grade: The students will continue memorization of their spring concert music.
  • 4th grade: The students will continue memorization of their spring concert music.
  • 5th grade: The students will continue memorization of their spring concert music.
  • 6th grade: The students will continue memorization of their spring concert music.

Spanish/ Latin

Spanish: Puopolo
  • Kinder
Students will be able to: Name the parts of the house by visualizing and interpreting pages 68 and 69.
  • First Grade
Students will learn and use Spanish vocabulary related to WHERE DO THEY LIVE while improving speaking and listening skills.
  • Second Grade
Students will learn about different places in their community and will also write sentences indicating where these places are located. They will do so by drawing and writing about these places
Latin: Fasenmyer
  • 3rd/4th Grade - Review Chapter 7 and begin Chapter 9 of Minimus
  • 5th Grade - Continue working on Chapter 4; learning the imperative and indicative verb moods, and the Vocative Case.
  • 6th Grade - Finish Chapter 6 and begin review for Test on April 15 (red day)/April 16 (blue day).

PE

K-3: Walsh
  • K-2- Scholars will continue to work on hockey skills.
  • 3rd- Scholars will work on baseball skills with lead up games.
3-6: Boland
  • 3rd - 6th grade - Students will celebrate the PE competitions with the activities that the winning class picked. Students will also continue to build on their 1/2-mile times while outside for the week.

  • 1st-3rd grade will identify cool and warm colors and create a composition of contrast with both.
3-6: Carlson
  • 3rd grade will learn about positive and negative space and Escher's artwork.
  • 4th grade will learn about Impressionism and how to create a lotus flower, like Monet.
  • 5th grade will review landscapes and discuss one-point perspectives.
  • 6th grade will continue creating their animal landscape artwork.
