 Last week of Quarter 3 2026!

Art

K-3: Hibler
  • Kinder students will explore textures and space with paper cutouts of flowers.
  • 1st grade will show dimension/space by overlapping things in their sketches of a house in the woods.
  • 2nd grade will draw the Texas state fish and create a print studying how the positive and negative spaces change with the paint.
  • 3rd grade will create a landscape drawing, identifying the horizon line and what things appear closer/ farther away.
3-6: Carlson
  • 3rd grade will begin the FINAL step of the watercolor Matisse project for the Art Show!
  • 4th grade will finish triangle drawings with black markers and/or make edits to Art Show projects (Blue Horse & Pears)
  • 5th grade will begin adding water to their O'Keeffe drawings for Art Show
  • 6th grade will add colored pencil, thin black markers and highlight pens to their Peter Paul Reubens drawings

Music

K-2: Abrego
  • Kindergarten: The students will learn the presentation of the concept of rhythm.
  • 1st grade: The students will learn the presentation and notation of duple meter.
  • 2nd grade: The students will prepare to internalize four beat meter through kinesthetic activities. The students will practice reading melodies with the do pentatonic scale.

3-6: Andersen
  • 3rd grade: Students will continue to learn their concert repertoire and assign solfege labels to pitches in folk songs.
  • 4th grade: Students will continue to learn their concert repertoire for both singing and handchimes.
  • 5th grade: Students will continue to learn their concert repertoire and learn to label and identify tetrachords.
  • 6th grade: Students will continue to learn their concert repertoire and learn to identify the names of key signatures with flats.

Spanish/ Latin

Spanish: Puopolo
  • Kinder
Students will be able to: Name places in a community, identify where people buy food and bread in a community and ask and answer questions about where someone is in the community.
  • First Grade
The students will learn that vendors at markets (mercados) sell items such as foods, clothing, toys, and handicrafts at lower prices than at supermarkets or malls by observing, visualizing, and interpreting pages 54 and 55.
  • Second Grade
Students will learn about different community workers and understand the importance of their roles in the community by drawing and writing about them.
Latin: Fasenmyer
  • 3rd Grade - Students will finish Chapter 6 and Review! Learning the 4th Present Tense Verb Conjugation and reviewing the 4 verb conjugations
  • 4th Grade - Students will finish Chapter 6 and Review! Learning and reviewing verb conjugations
  • 5th Grade - (!) Reviewing concepts from Chapter 3 and Chapter 3 Test (Day 2). (2) Practicing Noun Declension endings of the 2nd Neuter Declension
  • 6th Grade - Continue Reading Chapter 6 of Lingua Latina and Vocab Quiz

PE

K-3: Walsh
  • K-2- Scholars will continue to work on basketball dribbling and shooting skills with various games and activities.
  • 3rd- Scholars will begin to work on applying frisbee skills to games.
3-6: Boland
  • 3rd-6th grade - Students will continue to prepare for the FitnessGram while completing different fitness activities. Students will also be reviewing and playing Ultimate Football in small groups.
