Summary
It feels like we're really hitting our stride, now! In Music, students are doing a great job of learning their concert repertoire. In Latin, 3rd and 4th graders have just about learned enough Latin to play "Simo Dicit" (Simon Says), and 5th and 6th graders have largely finished the first chapter of our textbook (next week, they'll be translating English into Latin!). Sixth grade Drama students (C and D sections) will soon be auditioning for roles in their December Shakespeare performances ...
Art
Hibler: Art K-3
- Kinder artists will complete their drawing of fish in a fishbowl. Read Henri's Scissors and practice drawing organic shapes.
- 1st graders will create a collage of different types of lines.
- 2nd graders will begin drawing symmetrical creatures, one side at a time.
- 3rd graders will practice using lines by contour drawing.
Welch: Art 3-6
- 3rd graders will begin drawing James Audubon's Troupial Bird painting.
- 4th graders will complete drawing The Blue Horse and will transfer their drawings onto watercolor paper.
- 5th graders will complete drawing The Rhino and will transfer their drawings onto mixed media paper.
- 6th graders will begin their min-project of drawing James Audubon's American Eagle using the grid method.
Drama
Lucero: Drama 6
- Scholars will complete their reading of As You Like It and complete an analysis of the plot.
- Scholars will begin preparations for auditions.
Languages
Puopolo: Spanish K-2
All students will
- learn the history of El Grito, understand that el Dieciseis is Mexican Independence Day by listening on the teacher’s presentation and lecture
- learn the colors of the Mexican flag and what each color stands for by coloring the Mexican flag.

- how to apply the proper technique and form for the forearm pass, underhand serve, and set.
- how to rotate correctly on the volleyball court and apply skills to lead up volleyball games
Woods: PE 3-6
- All students will learn principles of Football, including
- Throwing- properly lateral stance, stepping with the opposite foot.
- Timing the pass - leading the receiver
- The students will learn: Hitch Route - Go Route
- It is especially effective if the defender is concerned about the threat of a go route.
