Art 

K-3: Hibler

  • Kinder students will use organic shapes to practice cutting skills and create recognizable objects.
  • 1st grade will draw fall leaves and color with oil pastels practicing blending techniques.
  • 2nd grade will practice shapes and lines as they learn about architecture and draw buildings.
  • 3rd grade will use oil pastels to practice blending techniques.
3-6: Carlson
  • 3rd grade will begin their underdrawing for the Audubon bird project.
  • 4th grade will begin their Cezanne pear project in oil pastel.
  • 5th grade will continue adding value to their ribbon project.
  • 6th grade will continue with the under drawing of Van Goghs' chair and begin with oil pastel.

Music

K-2: Abrego
  • Kindergarten: The students will learn to internalize high/low voice through kinesthetic activities. The students will continue practicing steady beat.
  • 1st grade: The students will learn to label two pitches with the solfege syllables so-mi.
  • 2nd grade: The students will be internalizing a pitch, re, between mi and do through kinesthetic activities.
The students will practice reading rhythm patterns that contain a half note. 

3-6: Massie
  • 3rd grade: Students will categorize and demonstrate changes in time signatures (2/4, 3/4, 4/4) and learn a dance in 3/4.
  • 4th grade: Students will learn and demonstrate a dotted quarter and eighth note rhythm.
  • 5th grade: Students will practice short musical phrases with hand chimes and demonstrate a musical canon.
  • 6th grade: Students will continue work on their 3 concert pieces and identify different sharp and flat key signatures.

Spanish/ Latin

Spanish: Puopolo
  • Kindergarten: Students are continuing to learn about singular and plural school supplies by identifying, naming, and describing how they are used through visual and interactive activities.
  • 1st grade: Students will continue learning about games in Chile and at their own school by using the textbook and workbook to visualize the games and understand the contexts in which they are played.
  • 2nd grade: The students will continue learning about the days of the week and the activities they do. They will also learn how to create complete sentences about those activities.

Latin: Fasenmyer
  • 3rd Grade - Continue working on Theme 1: animal vocabulary and action verbs. Begin Learning new Latin song!
  • 4th Grade - Begin Chapter 8 of Minimus - working on conjunctions.
  • 5th Grade - Begin Chapter 2 of Lingua Latina.
  • 6th Grade - Complete Review of Chapters 1-4 of Lingua Latina and take test.

PE

K-3: Walsh
  • Kinder- 3rd- Students will begin playing fun games to help prepare for Field Day!
3-6: Guajardo
  • 3rd grade: students will participate in Field Day activities focused on teamwork, sportsmanship, physical fitness, and having fun. Students will rotate through a variety of stations and games that challenge their speed, coordination, agility and teamwork while encouraging positive participation and school spirit.
  • 4th grade: students will participate in Field Day activities focused on teamwork, sportsmanship, physical fitness, and having fun.
