Art
K-3: Hibler
- Kinder students will create branches of a tree using lines and texture and add fluffy textured birds with a painting sponge.
- 1st grade will practice using lines and texture to draw foliage. We will begin using watercolor techniques to layer darker values.
- 2nd grade will practice using positive and negative space to create a cutout of a symmetrical fruit.
- 3rd grade will experiment with the element of art space by using a pamphlet to show things are closer and farther.
3-6: Carlson
- 3rd grade will be continuing to color their Matisse project
- 4th grade will be beginning a new still life project
- 5th grade will be finishing their O'Keeffe projects - those who finish early will be beginning to add water
- 6th grade will beginning a new gesture drawing project inspired by Peter Paul Reubens
Music
K-2: Abrego
- Kindergarten: The students will learn to create a visual representation of the rhythm of a melody.
- 1st grade: The students will learn to create a visual representation of strong and weak beats.
- 2nd grade: The students will practice notating the pentatonic scale on the staff.
3-6: Andersen
- 3rd grade: Students will begin learning their second piece of concert music.
- 4th grade: Students will begin learning their second piece of concert music.
- 5th grade: Students will begin learning their second piece of concert music.
- 6th grade: Students will begin learning their second piece of concert music.
Spanish/ Latin
Spanish: Puopolo
- Kinder
Students will learn the sound of the vowel “o” and they will also learn words that begin with o
- First Grade
The students will learn about places in their community. They will also describe where someone is located using the verb IR by observing, visualizing, and interpreting pages 70, 71, and 73.
- Second Grade
The students will learn about community workers. They will identify where these workers work by observing, visualizing, and interpreting pages 62 and 63.
Latin: Fasenmyer
- 3rd/4th Grade - Students will continue review of Chapter 6 and practice Verb conjugation
- 5th Grade - Complete Chapter 3 and Begin Chapter 4 of Lingua Latina
- 6th Grade - Chapter 6 of Lingua Latina: Discover new uses of the Accusative Case and learn about the Locative Case. Practice for Academic Field Day.
PE
K-3: Walsh
- K-2- Scholars will begin an exciting basketball unit. This week scholars will work on the proper technique for dribbling.
- 3rd- Scholars will be working on soccer dribbling skills.
3-6: Boland
- 3rd - 6th - Students will continue their handball unit inside the gym. The movement prep will review the straight leg series, which ties into our track season currently going on.
