Art

K-3: Hibler
  • Kinder students will practice drawing Matisse-inspired fruits using basic shapes and lines and add color with oil pastels.
  • 1st grade will use blending techniques with watercolor crayons to color their poppies.
  • 2nd grade will create a full-body self-portrait and add textures and values.
  • 3rd grade will create a landscape by Paul Signac and add color using pointillism techniques.
3-6: Carlson
  • 3rd grade will continue their orange branch watercolor painting
  • 4th grade will continue thier tomato still life
  • 5th grade will continue their Monet oil pastel project
  • 6th grade will continue their Abstract Expressionist collage

Music

K-2: Abrego
  • Kindergarten: The students will reflect on their concert performance. The students will reflect on their concert performance.
  • 1st grade: The students will reflect on their concert performance. The students will prepare to internalize a sound that lasts two beats. The students will practice reading and writing rhythms containing a half-note.
  • 2nd grade: The students will reflect on their concert performances. The students will learn about the instruments in the orchestra.
3-6: Andersen
  • 3rd grade: Students will learn about the instrument families of the orchestra. Students will learn about the opera "Hansel and Gretel."
  • 4th grade: Students will practice ringing and damping the hand chimes.
  • 5th grade: Students will learn songs for the house banquet.
  • 6th grade: Students will learn about codas, repeats, and first and second endings. Students will learn about the opera "Carmen."

Spanish/ Latin

Spanish: Puopolo
  • Kinder - The students will identify and say what schoolyard games children play and what students do during recess by observing and visualizing pages 82 and 83 from the textbook.
  • First Grade and Second Grade - Students will review concepts learned throughout the school year and complete any missing assignments to strengthen their understanding.
Latin: Fasenmyer
  • 3rd/4th Grade - Final review of Chapter 7&9, submission of Vocab Log 4.2, Greek Myths
  • 5th Grade - Vocab Review and Chapter 4 Lingua Latina Test!
  • 6th Grade - Final week of Lingua Latina Chapter 7 and Dative Case Parsing. Review for Final Test.

PE

K-3: Walsh
  • K-2- Scholars will be working on kicking and soccer games.
  • 3rd- Scholars will continue to work on kickball games.
3-6: Boland
  • 3rd - 6th grade - A few classes have to make up height/weight for the FitnessGram while learning a new game. Students will learn and play "Athlos Ball" while inside this week.
