Art

K-3: Hibler

• Kinder students will create and cut out organic shapes.
• 1st grade will draw a house in a garden using previously learned horizontal and vertical line directions.
• 2nd grade will create a road using diagonal lines, identifying space and perspective.
• 3rd grade will create an organic shape mushroom and practice pattern designs.

3-6: Carlson

3rd grade will add final touches to their Matisse project.

• 4th grade will learn the muscles in the hand and create two hand drawings in their sketchbook.
• 5th grade will finish up their opptical illusion drawing project and begin drawing a paper bag with brown colored pencils.
• 6th grade will begin their Abstract Expressionist watercolor project and add cut paper elements.

Music

K-2: Abrego

• Kindergarten: The students will prepare to internalize beat through kinesthetic motions. The students will practice singing in a loud or soft voice.
• 1st grade: The students will learn the presentation of notation of one and two sounds on a beat.
  • 2nd grade: The students will prepare to internalize a sound that lasts for two beats through kinesthetic activities.

The students will practice singing and reading melodies with the solfege syllables la, so, mi, and do.

3-6: Massie

• 3rd grade: The students will identify the notes on the lines and spaces of the treble clef. The students will also analyze the 3/4 time signature.
• 4th grade: The students will fully define and compare the differences between rhythmic and melodic ostinatos.
• 5th grade: The students will identify the notes on the grand staff.
• 6th grade: The students will compare and contrast the differences between Opera Seria and Opera Buffa. Students will also identify flat and sharp key signatures and scales.

Spanish/ Latin

Spanish: Puopolo

• Kindergarten: Students will identify Places in their school and provide information about how they are used by visualizing and interpreting pages 88-89 in the textbook through participation during question time.
• 1st grade: The students will identify classes and subjects in Chile and in their own school by visualizing and interpreting pages 104 and 105 in the textbook through participation during question time.
• 2nd grade: The students will learn about the days of the week by visualizing and interpreting pages 98-99 in the textbook through participation during question time.

K-3: Walsh

• Kinder-3rd grade: Students will be working on overhand and underhand throwing techniques. They will work strategically with others on a team with some exciting throwing games!

3-6: Guajardo

• 3rd grade: Students will learn the grip stance, point, wind-up, step, throw, and follow-through of a football.
• 4th grade: Students will learn how transfer the football from one player to another.

5th grade: Students will learn how to run a hitch, post and slant route in flag football.

• 6th grade: Students will learn how to run a hitch, post, and slant route in flag football.
