Art

K-3: Hibler
  • Kinder students will use basic shapes and lines to draw fish.
  • 1st grade will create a line collage by cutting out different types of lines.
  • 2nd grade will use oil pastels to practice blending techniques and color in their symmetrical butterflies.
  • 3rd grade will use watercolor to paint their Matisse replicas.
3-6: Carlson
  • 3rd grade will continue with their Matisse Interior Project. This week we will be adding color!
  • 4th grade will complete a still life drawing in color of two roses in a jar.
  • 5th grade will begin an optical illusion drawing.
  • 6th grade will continue working on their line drawings and learn how to mat their project.

Music

K-2: Abrego
  • Kindergarten: The students will analyze repertoire sung with a loud or soft voice. The students will practice tuneful singing.
  • 1st grade: The students will learn to analyze repertoire that contains one and two sounds on a beat. Students will practice high and low melodic contour.
  • 2nd grade: The students will learn the visual representation of a musical phrase that contains do.
3-6: Massie
  • 3rd grade: Students will analyze and identify the lines and now spaces of the Treble Clef. Students will also continue to work on their first concert piece.
  • 4th grade: Students will solfege short folksongs, demonstrate sightreading skills, and demonstrate Fa and Ti through two newly learned folk songs. Students will also continue to work on their first concert piece.
  • 5th grade: Students will practice rhythms in compound time signatures, review procedures for hand chimes before playing short pieces. Students will also continue to work on their first concert piece.
  • 6th grade: Students will identify and analyze key signatures and scales and review the concept of Opera Seria's aria/recitative characteristics. Students will also continue to work on their first concert piece.

Spanish/ Latin

Spanish: Puopolo
  • Kindergarten: Students will identify school supplies and provide information about how they are used by visualizing and interpreting pages 96-98 in the textbook through participation during question time.
  • 1st grade: The students will learn about the places in a school and the rules they must follow by visualizing and interpreting pages 80-81 in the textbook through participation during question time.
  • 2nd grade: Students will use the syllables ca, co, and cu to read simple Spanish words and match them to the corresponding image

Latin: Fasenmyer
  • 3rd Grade - Lesson 5 & 6 of Latin Through Stories (topic: animals)
  • 4th Grade - Complete Review of Chapter 6 of Minimus, begin Chapter 7 and review present tense verb conjugation, nouns, verbs and adjectives
  • 5th Grade - Continue Reading Chapter 1 of Lingua Latina - focus on Nominative case, gender and singular and plural
  • 6th Grade - Begin Review of Lingua Latina Chapter 3 Readings, Vocabulary, Concepts

PE

K-3: Walsh
