Q1 Week 8 (Sept. 29-Oct. 3)

Hibler: Art K-3

  • Kinder – Students will continue practicing cutting skills with organic shapes and learn to identify the difference between organic and geometric shapes.
  • 1st – Students will complete their coloring of their house in a garden and practice using distinct values.
  • 2nd – Students will complete coloring their landscapes, identifying textures and values.
  • 3rd -  Students will complete their van gogh inspired sketches, using the element of art line.

Bissey: Art 3-6

  • 3rd – Students will create a replica of Joan Miro’s Woman in Front of the Sun.
  • 4th –  Students will continue to explore Franz Marc’s animal pieces.
  • 5th – Students will apply their knowledge of value to drawing texture.
  • 6th - Students will create a hand project focusing on lines and patterns.

  • Kinder -  The students will label the beat, introduce the beat icon, and present the word “beat.” Students will identify the musical era, musical themes, and biography of George Fredric Handel. 
  • 1st - The students will prepare to analyze repertoire that contains so-mi. The students will practice writing musical patterns that contain quarter and eighth notes.  Students will identify the musical era, musical themes, and biography of George Fredric Handel. 
  • 2nd - The students will learn to label one sound that lasts two beats with the rhythm syllable ta-ah. The students will learn the history and music of composer Muzio Clementi.

  • 2nd – students will begin drawing a road using linear perspective (space), and add texture.
  • 3rd - students will study the work of Vincent van Gogh and recreate a sketch using lines they identify.

Bissey: Art 3-6

  • 3rd – Students will explore the work of Joan Miro and create a piece inspired by his work.
  • 4th – Students will add watercolor to their Blue Horse I drawings.
  • 5th – Students will practice drawing with value.
  • 6th - Students will practice drawing with value and form.

  •  2nd - The students will prepare to internalize a sound that lasts for two beats through kinesthetic activities. The students will practice singing and reading melodies with the solfege syllables la, so, mi, and do. The students will continue concert preparations.

  • Kinder - Students will complete their fishbowl project, practicing coloring, cutting, and gluing skills.
  • 1st – students will practice drawing lines in different directions and learn terms: horizontal, vertical, diagonal.
  • 2nd - Students will complete drawings of beetles using symmetry and add values.
  • 3rd - students will be learning how to draw things to make them appear 3D then add shading.

  • 3rd – The students will continue their replica of Starry Night.
  • 4th – Students will continue their replica of Blue Horse I.
  • 5th – The students will continue to explore Op Art.

  • Kinder - Students will use basic shapes to create animals and explore lines by adding texture and patterns.
  • 1st – Students will explore the elements of art line, creating a collage of different types of lines. Cutting skills practice with cutting different types of lines.
  • 2nd - Students will complete their symmetrical butterflies by cutting out the boarder and making the whole shape symmetrical
  • 3rd - Students will continue to explore line by recreating Starry Night using wax resist with watercolors.

 

Bissey: Art 3-6

  • 3rd - Students will continue to explore line by recreating Starry Night using oil pastels. 
  • 4th - Students will recreate Blue Horse I with watercolors.
