Welcome to October! Winter Concert preparations are in full swing, and the students are enjoying learning their pieces. Below you will find a link to the practice tracks for each grade level. If students could spend 5-10 minutes daily reviewing their parts, it would make everyone feel much more confident at the performance and set us up for refining the pieces during our limited class time. This is especially important for 5th grade students since they are preparing a hand chime piece as well.

It’s a new month, so that means new composers to explore! This month, 3rd grade will be studying Franz Joseph Haydn, 4th grade will be introduced to Guillame de Machaut in conjunction with their grade level Medieval unit, and 5th grade will learn about the music of Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel. However, we will begin the month exploring some of the wonderful classical pieces that influenced our Winter Concert selections.

As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
