Art

K-3: Hibler
  • Kinder students will color their self-portraits using blending techniques.
  • 1st grade will practice identifying and using different shades of a complementary color set.
  • 2nd grade will create their replicas of Monets sunset using primary colors.
  • 3rd grade will study Georgia O'Keefe's flowers and use analogous colors to blend.
3-6: Carlson
  • 3rd grade will begin working on a positive and negative space collage
  • 4th grade will begin their under- drawing for their Monet waterlily
  • 5th grade will continue one-point perspective drawings
  • 6th grade will finish animal project and introduced to next Kandinsky project

Music

K-2: Abrego: All students will continue preparing for the Spring concert on Friday, May 1st.
  • Kindergarten: The students will learn the presentation of notation of one and two sounds on a beat.
  • 1st grade: The students will learn to label a pitch a skip below mi as do.  
  • 2nd grade: The students will review conducting pattern of quadruple meter and learn the presentation of quadruple meter. The students will be introduced to the orchestra and instrument families.  
3-6: Andersen
  • 3rd grade: Students will review their concert music and learn about concert etiquette.
  • 4th grade: Students will review their concert music and learn about concert etiquette.
  • 5th grade: Students will review their concert music and learn about concert etiquette.
  • 6th grade: Students will review their concert music and learn about concert etiquette.

Spanish/ Latin

Spanish: Puopolo
Kinder
The students will be able to say where they are from, and name and describe buildings and houses in a city.
First Grade
The students will be able to describe people and events; they will also identify people and things using the verb SER.
Second Grade
The students will learn to name the rooms of a house, identify where people are in a house, and they also describe their own house by observing, visualizing, and interpreting pages 46 - 49.
Latin: Fasenmyer
  • 3rd/4th Grade - Review Chapter 7 and begin Chapter 9 of Minimus
  • 5th Grade - Continue working on Chapter 4; learning the imperative and indicative verb moods, and the Vocative Case.
  • 6th Grade - Finish Chapter 6 and begin review for Test on April 15 (red day)/April 16 (blue day).

PE
K-3: Walsh
  • K-2- Scholars will start to work on Volleyball skills.
  • 3rd- Scholars will be working on Badminton skills.
3-6: Boland
  • 3rd - 6th grade - Students will begin their badminton unit inside the main gym. A few classes also have a few FitnessGram assessments to make up.
