Quarter 1, Week 4 (9/5-9/8)

Summary

We hope you had a Labor Day weekend full of joy and peace! No Monday school means full day Friday.

Table of Contents

Mrs. Balmer (Music: 3-5)

Week 3 introduced the idea of breath support and controlling the voice using our abdominal muscles. We worked to “blow up the innertube” around our belly button and hold it there while we sing. We also have a sold start on our first concert piece and have wrapped up our August composer study.

Week 4 will see all students working with rhythm notation and note identification. New composers will be introduced at every grade level, and 5th grade will also begin working on hand chimes in anticipation of our Winter Concert performance.

Again, if there are ever any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
